“I want my paintings to carry the sense of the oneiric in its metamorphoses, which transform it into a ‘phenotypic plasticity’ of memory, imagination and dreams. My dual roots are as distant as Bulgaria and Italy and imply a sense of belonging to both places and the constant desire to live both realities simultaneously. Every time I stay in one country or the other, I feel an emptiness, an uprooting and an inner sound. As soon as I apply the brush, the sound begins and I am able to compose the work based on the sounds I hear as I paint,  which become more chaotic and elusive as time goes on because things are always changing, and this is a feeling I can only express through painting. I see that my left shoe has roots and my right one – an anchor. An ever lighter anchor…
